Within a short drive, you can reach the nearby historic towns of Murphys, Avery, Dorrington, Camp Connell, Angels Camp, Sonora, Jamestown, Columbia, and San Andreas. Also, within a couple hours are Lake Tahoe to the northeast and Yosemite to the southeast.
